You asked for it! Since the Coors Light Silver Bullet Train debuted in a 2004 TV ad, this imaginary train has been one of our most-requested items. For 2007, we've chosen this silver flyer to introduce a feature that has been latent in Proto-Sound 2.0 but never used before: the ability of a locomotive to "talk to" its trailing cars or trackside accessories. At your command, The Silver Bulletr steam engine pulls into a station, playing arrival and departure sounds inspired by the television commercials and commanding its three-reefer consist to open it doors, billowing frosty smoke and revealing its chilled contents. Of course the chrome-plated Silver Bullet includes all the features found in every Proto-Sound 2.0 steamer, including a suite of sound effects, synchronized puffing smoke, and smooth cruise control operation at any throttle setting from a crawl to a speeding Bullet.
Soon after its introduction in 1978, Coors nicknamed its light beer The Silver Bullet because of its sleek aluminum silver can. The Silver Bullet Train delivering ice-cold refreshment from the Rocky Mountains is the brainchild of FCB-Chicago, a division of famed advertising agency Foote Cone & Belding. Although this is Coors' first use of a train as a corporate symbol, the firm has long been a major shipper and receiver of products by rail. Today its Golden, Colorado brewery operates diesel switchers emblazoned with the Coors logo and sends out approximately 300 rail cars of beer every week.
Add a touch of pure fantasy and a great deal of fun to your layout with The Silver Bullet Train and its frosty load. Activate its unique features with virtually any conventional transformer with bell and whistle buttons, or use the M.T.H. DCS system for an even more exciting operating experience.
