Available Items

November 8, 2005 - In response to customer feedback on the 2006 Volume 1 catalog, some inaccuracies have been corrected and some items will be changed to better reflect prototype details. As always, the M.T.H. Website is the best source for up-to-the-minute changes or enhancements we make to our products.

PREMIER LINE CHANGES

Specialty Sets: The catalog mistakenly listed that the GG-1 and F-3 sets (20-5580-1 and 20-2676-1) would include an oval of ScaleTrax track. These sets will not be configured as such, in keeping with the other Specialty Sets listed in the catalog.

The BMT Subway Sets: The catalog description incorrectly listed these as 2500 Series cars. They will actually be 2600 Series cars. The catalog photograph correctly depicted the 2600 Series style.

Premier Steam Engines:

Reading 4-8-4 T-1 steam engine catalog copy incorrectly states that this engine is still available in the American Freedom Train paint scheme, which is sold out at the factory level (although it may still be available from some hobby shops). Engine No. 2124, as pictured in the catalog, is still available.

The USRA 2-8-2 Mikados will not be available with Scale Wheels and the Proto-Scale 3-2ル feature will not be included on the Hi-Rail Wheel model.

The 2-8-4 K-4 Kanawha Steam Engine will not be available with Scale Wheels and the Proto-Scale 3-2ル feature will not be included on the Hi-Rail Wheel model.

Premier Diesels:

The D&H Alco PAs will have correct number board position and proper horn detail as per actual prototype appearance.

The Canadian National F-7 ABA set will be produced in the passenger version paint scheme rather than the freight version paint scheme as depicted in the catalog.

The Canadian Pacific C-Liners will have the correct B1B power truck arrangement rather than the A1A arrangement shown in the catalog.

The Pennsylvania C-Liners will have the correct B1B power truck arrangement rather than the A1A arrangement shown in the catalog. The locomotive will sport Freight Yard Proto-Effects rather than Passenger Station Proto-Effects as indicated in the catalog.

The Milwuakee Road C-Liners will feature Freight Yard Proto-Effects rather than the Passenger Station Proto-Effects detailed in the catalog feature list.

The Dash-8s will have 6-wheel trucks rather than 4-wheel trucks for the railroads that used 6-wheel trucks.

RAILKING CHANGES

Steam Locomotives:

The Southern 0-6-0 Steam Switcher (30-1384-1) will feature cab number 1681 rather than 1697 as photographed.

Diesel Locomotives::

The RailKing Scale Chicago & Illinois Midland SD-9 Diesel Engines (30-2653-1 and 30-2653-3) will not have a black cab roof. The roof will instead be green.

The RailKing Scale GP-9 Diesel Engines were cataloged with an incorrect list of features for the powered units. The correct feature list is detailed below:

  • Directionally Controlled Headlights
  • Intricately Detailed ABS Body
  • Die-Cast Truck Sides, Pilots and Fuel Tank
  • (2) Remotely Controlled Proto-Couplersル
  • Authentic Paint Scheme
  • Metal Handrails and Decorative Horn
  • (2) Precision Flywheel Equipped Motors
  • Metal Wheels, Axles and Gears
  • (2) Cab Figures
  • Locomotive Speed Control
  • Proto-Sound 2.0 With The Digital Command System Featuring: Freight Yard Proto-Effects
  • Unit Measures:14 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 3 3/4"
  • Operates On O-31 Curves

    Diesel Sets:

The Pennsy and Rock Island Aerotrains were incorrectly listed with the wrong item numbers. The correct item number is 30-2674-1 for the Pennsylvania set and 30-2675-1 for the Rock Island set.
Note that the add-on Aerotrain cars will be produced with different numbers than those of previous Pennsylvania and Rock Island add-on cars, enabling owners of earlier releases to lengthen their trains if desired. Colors will match those earlier M.T.H. Aerotrain releases.

    RailKing Freight:

The photo of the Jersey Central Steel Caboose (30-77106) failed to depict a black square with an orange circle on the end of the caboose cupola, which will be featured on the production model.
