First download the firmware update on the device of your choice. If downloading to a PC the file will be in your downloads folder unless it is saved in another location. For a phone or tablet make sure to save the firmware to your files folder. Proceed with the following:
1. Power up your WTIU and connect to it on the MTH Network on a device of your choice that has the firmware update saved to it (laptop, tablet, phone).
2. Open your web browser of choice and type in the following IP address into the URL: 192.168.143.1
3. A login page for the LuCi interface will load. To login use the following credentials:
Username: root
Password: mthdcs
4. Go to the drop down menu that says SYSTEM, and select Backup/Flashfirmware.
5. At the bottom of that page you will see FLASH NEW FIRMWARE IMAGE, select the purple button that says Flash Image...
6. Click Browse... then select Choose File and select the new firmware update (WTIU-v1.2.0-20250127.bin).
7. Click upload, A box will pop up with three options. One of the options will say KEEP SETTINGS AND RETAIN THE CURRENT CONFIGURATION ( this option should be auto selected) select this option and hit Continue.
8. A message will pop up saying FLASHING... DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE (this is extremely important, DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE while uploading the firmware to the WTIU).
9. You will see the WTIU "restart." Let the WTIU power down and then boot back up, this takes roughly 4 minutes. Once the channel lights are green you are good to go. You may now close out of LuCi. You have successfully updated the firmware and are ready to run trains.
