Blue/Silver #1616 3-Car O Gauge Passenger Set

Tinplate collectors have often dubbed the 1616 passenger set as one of the most attractive O Gauge tinplate passenger sets ever offered. Produced during the Ives transition years of the early 1930's, the cars would have been a welcome complement to the O Gauge Blue Comet locomotives traditionally configured with 600 series passenger cars. Despite their attractive looks, these cars were never cataloged again and instead became relegated to the occasional uncataloged special. The most famous of these sets sported a beige cab and red roof and chassis and included the 1695, 1696 and 1697 cars. Other paint schemes included blue bodies with silver roofs and undercarriages as well as dark red bodies, roofs and undercarriages, each of which has been recreated in our 2006 sets. Each of these sets make an excellent complement with a matching 1694 Ives Electric locomotive and will quickly endear themselves as the pride of your O Gauge Tinplate Traditions collection.
