Overview

This New Haven-style 4-4-4 box cab engine, with its metal construction and nickel trim, makes a grand appearance in the Tinplate Traditions line. The locomotive, which debuted in 1932, was the last newly tooled engine in the Ives line, and it presented a silhouette unlike any previously produced in Standard Gauge. The 1764E was a welcome sight to Ives fans, who were lamenting the recent decline in the line's proud tradition. Because so few of the 1764E electric were made, the originals are extremely rare. The M.T.H.-built 1764E is sure to turn heads whether it pulls a car set or rests on a display shelf. Match the energy of the 1764E's precision flywheel-equipped motor with a replica of the Ives Transition Set designed especially to accompany this unusual engine. Either the terra cotta or red body, each with maroon roof, are available in quality baked enamel finish. Did You Know? Manufactured in 1932, the electric locomotive was one of the last additions to the Ives line. Operates on STD-42 Curves
