Orange w/Nickel Std. Gauge Tinplate #9E Locomotive Contemporary
Overview
Among the hardest to find of Standard Gauge electrics, the classic #9E is sure to attract the interest of many a tinplate enthusiast. Returning to the MTH Tinplate Traditions line for 1999, the MTH #9E is available in two traditional color schemes: orange and dark green. In addition to choosing between the two classic color schemes, two mechanical configurations are also featured. Enthusiasts who prefer the classic tinplate features of the past will find the Traditional model more than lives up to its first generations cousins. In fact, thanks to the Traditional version's "Bild-A-Loco" motor and mechanical reversing unit, we've been able to recapture the sound, sights and even smell of this Standard Gauge classic. Operators, however, may find the Contemporary version more to their liking. A smooth operating Pittmanr can motor and drive train as well as the sounds and controls of the Proto-Sound 2.0 Digital Command System make the Contemporary version a real operator's favorite. Like all MTH Tinplate Traditions products, the #9E is a careful reproduction of the Standard Gauge classic. The body and running gear are made entirely of stamped metal and all painted surfaces are finished in beautiful baked enamel, creating what will undoubtedly become a sure fire classic on your Standard Gauge layout or display.
