MTH Electric Trains' Digital Command System (DCS) is a sophisticated control system designed to enhance the operation of model trains. It allows hobbyists to manage multiple trains and accessories on the same track, providing a streamlined and immersive experience. The DCS system features a user-friendly intuitive mobile app that allows operators to control speed, direction, lighting, and sound effects of their trains with precision. 

DCS also supports advanced features such as programmable sound effects, customizable settings for individual locomotives, and the ability to control trackside accessories. This level of control brings a new dimension to model railroading, allowing for more realistic operation and intricate layouts.

MTH Electric Trains recently introduced our new WTIU (WiFi Track Interface Unit). What makes the WTIU unique and one of a kind in the market place is its ability to control conventional AC or DC locomotives allowing the user to have command and non-command equipped locomotives on the same track at the same time. Regardless of how you control it, the WTIU is compatible with all Proto-Sound 2.0 or 3.0 equipped locomotives as well as S Gauge and O Gauge locomotives equipped with Lionel® TMCC® and Legacy™ onboard systems; any conventional AC-powered locomotives; or conventional analog DC-powered locomotives in other scales, including N, HO, and G Gauge.

Features of the WTIU:

•  The WTIU utilizes built in WiFi signal for expanded range and better speed that allows the user to operate their locomotives with a smart device and the MTH DCS app, available on both iOS and Android devices. The WTIU can connect to an already existing WiFi Network or can be used on the stand alone MTH Network.
• Bi-directional communication between locomotives and the WTIU makes adding and programming locomotives simple and easy. No more cables and loader programs to upload sound files to locomotives, no more ID numbers to remember and no complex icons to decipher. 
• The WTIU seamlessly integrates into existing layouts. It is designed to work effortlessly with MTH’s RealTrax product line and other track systems such as Lionel FasTrack, Atlas Track or Ross Custom Switches.
• Each WTIU Fixed/Variable Input Channel accepts AC or DC power from virtually all AC or DC power supplies, including all MTH AC transformers like the Z-4000, Z-1000, Z-750 and Z-500. Once you’ve got power into the WTIU, run the outbound channels directly to the track or to a terminal block for larger layouts. 
•  Connect an AIU (Accessory Interface Unit) to your WTIU to be able to control up to 10 switches and 10 accessories through the MTH DCS app. 
•  With wireless communication and the ability to be updated via software, the WTIU ensures that users can continue to enjoy new features and improvements for years to come.

If you have an existing TIU (Track Interface Unit) and would like to utilize the MTH DCS app to operate your locomotives and layout then the WIU (WiFi Interface Unit) is perfect for you. It plugs directly into your TIU using a standard USB cable that is provided with the WIU. Connect the WIU to an existing WiFi Network or use it on the standalone MTH Network, download the MTH DCS app on your smart device and you are ready to run trains. The days of only having one remote for your layout to pass around with friends are over, now anyone can come over and run trains on your layout.

Features of the WIU:

• The WIU utilizes WiFi signal for expanded range and better speed that allows the user to operate their locomotives, set up routes, control switches or activate accessories with a smart device and the MTH DCS app, available on both iOS and Android devices.
• Installation is simple and straightforward with your existing TIU.
• Connect an AIU (Accessory Interface Unit) to your TIU and WIU to be able to control up to 10 switches and 10 accessories through the MTH DCS app.
• LED Indicators to inform the user of WiFi connection, power to the unit and connection to their TIU.
• Easy to install future software updates with wireless connection.

The DCS Explorer is the perfect unit for customers and hobbyists who are just starting out in the command control world. Whether you have a small layout with only a few locomotives or you want to set up a seasonal layout for the holiday, the DCS Explorer is for you. Power the DCS Explorer with any MTH AC transformer such as a Z-1000, Z-750 or Z-500 and connect the output of the DCS Explorer directly to your track, download the MTH DCS app and you are all set. Just like the WTIU and WIU you can connect the DCS Explorer to an existing WiFi Network or use it on the standalone MTH Network.
